It felt like it was time to try out one of my power tools.
Baby steps though, right? yes.
So, I plugged this thing in…
Looked around a bit…
Then called my dad to see how to unlatch the safety.
Way to gather votes of confidence, no?
Since I am a thoughtful girl, I did call him when I was finished to let him know that all my fingers were intact.
Now I have taken away any wondering or suspense!
No, you know I am ok, and all was well…and this is not a place to find the spilling of blood…usually.
Back to the saw…
I started small.
I wanted to make a padded headboard with a fitted slipcover.
Instead of building a frame, I just used an old screen door I had leaning around.
Clever, yes?
I measured the wood necessary for the legs and cut with the saw!
It was easy.
A bit of a letdown, truth be told.
Smelled good though…cedar.
So, here is what I ended up with ready to wrap:
I really love it that I know there is a screen door above my head when I sleep.
Things like this make me smile.
Then I wrapped it up with much padding and was quite generous with the staple gun.
I lugged it into my room and measured with the fabric, cut, and sewed it up like an envelope.
Shamefully easy really.
And…..
Voila!
I am really quite pleased!
Now, I need to replace the furniture and bedding perhaps!
Zut alors!
Nice work, Gurly!
Why thank you:)
