I like a challenge.
Good to have new adventures to keep me on my toes.
Some might think I make stuff up…
I do – but only the stuff that sounds like wise advice.
Kid stories? Total gospel every.time.
We had friends over to play the other day.
Often the favorite thing is our dramatic play closet…cool.
Much giggling precedes a parade up to the porch to show an outfit.
MC it seems…is all decked out in a blue toile dress…holding a baby in a matching dress.
This is adorable…my baby boy would make a beautiful girl, mohawk and all.
Here is the thing…he didn’t want to take it off…I asked…he said nope it was pretty comfortable.
Friends go home…now we are out front…MC is riding his dirt bike in the blue toile dress.
I think this is fine…it is just…there are these phrases coming out of my mouth that feel so odd…
“MC, put your dress down, you shouldn’t show your underwear.”
“BB, give MC the ribbon tie back for the dress.”
My kids get to be whom ever they are…period.
Society and rules and norms can take a jump…however…
Mr. Z was not cool with this.
not at all.
so
I say, “Hey MC, here’s the thing…some of the dramatic play costumes aren’t very washable, so perhaps we should just wear them in the house?”
He says, “Oh man! I didn’t know this was a costume, I thought it was CNN’s! I wiped my nose on it Mom!”
I don’t really know where this little story goes from here.
The blue toile dress went in the laundry.
